WORCESTERSHIRE PRIDE 2023 | Saturday 15thJuly 2023
We're a group of LGBT+ Worcestershire residents who believe in supporting, empowering and connecting the Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Pan, Ace/Aro, Trans and Non-binary community.
On September 23rd 2017, we held the first Worcestershire Pride event down by the river front in Worcester. We also ran an LGBT+ Arts Festival in the run up to the main day event and various fundraisers to unite to community whilst raising community funds for Worcestershire Pride . In 2018 we continued this amazing experience and held our 2nd Pride on September 22nd 2018, We held various fundraisers during the year to make sure it was a brilliant day, we also added a Walking Parade to the event which started at The Elgar Statue and went through the City town and ended at the Festival Location.
In 2019 we hosted our 3rd Pride event for Worcestershire and it was a record breaking turn out, we had over 1000 people join in the walking parade and the day was blessed with sunshine. We are hoping that this year will be a fabulous day for the weather for us.
Worcestershire Pride has been in the works for a while now, with recent political events seeing a rise in intersectional hate crimes it's become increasingly important that the LGBT+ community come together in love and support.
Our first event was the Vigil for the victims of the shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando in 2016 outside of the Worcester City Guild Hall, which pulled large numbers together in solidarity and had the LGBT+ Pride flag flown above the Guild Hall for the first time ever.
